Thanks to its competence Siemens Gigaset brings together Internet telephony and cordless in-house communication. Through their VoIP Portfolio Siemens Gigaset opens up a new world of possibilities to be connected with the beloved ones and the rest of the world and gives reassurance to the consumers thanks to proven quality standards.

On this years CeBIT Siemens Gigaset launches a new VoIP phone: The Gigaset C450 IP is an easy entry in mobile internet calls for price sensitive users. As it is operating behind a router or modem providing LAN connection you do not need a PC to do VoIP calls. In principle it is plug and play. Just select a provider from the handset menu. Again no PC is needed.

Futhermore the phone features CLIP, CNIP, an Illuminated color display, sms functionality and a phone directory with up to 100 names and numbers.

This is a great idea, but why does it not support Skype, as far as I know the leading VoIP provider? That really doesn't make sense. So I got this phone and took it back to the store the next day. If there's a phone like this that supports skype, I'm gonna buy it immediately! And I dont want an additional siemens adapter that needs to connect with my computer. I bought this phone to make calls without my computer. - AH Germany, Netherlands

Is there possible to make VOIP calls with other IP Phones when you connect it to an IPBX (in resume you don't need to have a VOIP provider) ?

Is anyone else having problems with the Web Config Utility?

I can access it OK (DHCP assigned IP address) but when I try and change settings it just does nothing.

I have tried from 3 PCs using Firefox 2.0.0.3, IE6 and IE7.

I bought 2 phones/basestations and am having the same problem with both.

Anyone have any ideas?

I am planning to buy this phone. But I am unable to find out whether this supports PPoPE to connect to the internet.
Can anyone tell me what kind of connection protocols are supported?
Thanks in advance
