Since a few months I own the Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl and it works fine. However, today I was looking for a firmware update and for information wether you can use this router with "Annex A" instead of "Annex B" (after a firmware update).
I can't find the product on gigaset.siemens.com, not on the German, the US or the Brasilian website. Even your link here does not work. What is wrong with the Gigaset SX553 WLAN dsl that it is not on the website anymore? Your post was written less than a month ago!

I assumed that the Gigaset SX 553 Wlan Dsl is not sold anymore. However, I have only found the SX 553 Dsl in the customer care product list on sunday. Today, however, the WLAN version appeared.

Ok I bought a SX553. I have a 4170ISDN basis and 3 gigaset 4000 phones. Can I get rid of 4170 basis and connect a 4000 basis to SX553?
I'm also thinking in buying a S455 phone, can I connect the S455 to the SX553 and provide also phone line to the 4000 handsets?

I've just bought a SX553 and installed it on Friday. All works fine, except for the ADSL modem that keeps disconnecting continuously from times to times. I've updated to lates firmware 1.30n but still problem persists. What should I do?
Since I have bought the SX553WLANdsl I have Problems with it every day! Somtimes I am not able to surf, somtimes the WLAN doesn't work!
I don't know what to do. The Support tells me, that it is a hardware problem. Ant the Repair service tells me that it works great!
The Reap Problem is the Firmware!! But the guys from SIEMENS are not able to write a working firmware, so that is the reason why the product is will not be sold anymore!

Bought a new TELUS branded Gigaset se567 with TELUS
firmware that came with VPI and VCI preset. Those values
need to changed to VPI: 0 VCI: 35 for the netwok my ISP
uses,unable to make changes with locked TELUS firmware.
Is there a Siemens application firmware available to flash
my se567? I should add update files such as .bin are of
no use.

As I was not successful to change the firmware from Annex B to Annex A I decided to get a modem that will work here (Annex A) and just use the Gigaset SX553 only as router and for VOIP.
Boomer! That doesn't seem to be possible. Thank you Siemens. And thank you for leaving us with a half finished firmware for this thingy. Was about to buy some Siemens phones here. I guess I won't. I am really disappointed.
