After applying the latest firmware to my Gigaset C450IP to add the Gigaset.net feature, my third-partty DECT handsets are no longer recognized by the C450IP. Even after a hard reset of the DECT bass and a redo of the registration procedure.
I am not alone having this trouble, I have seen that on many forums on the net.
My third-party handset are Alcatel made
I'm waiting for you to fix this problem as now, the C450IP is no longer respecting the DECT protocole

gigaset.net seems to need STUN even if you told your S/C450 to not use it. Did you open the port ?
Please help, which port needs opening. As I know you can only mak stun settings in the voip connection, but not as a general setting. I have ports 5060 and 5004 open in the router.
I am also experiencing th eproblem with not being able to register third party DECT handsets. even wit latest 01059 firmware. What is progress in getting a new firmware version to fix this.
I would like to be sure Siemmns is really working to fix the trouble with third party handsets they introduced wih the 1057 firmware two months ago.
An official statment from Siemens would be welcome.
Either to say this will be fixed soon or to tell the costumers they are not lucky because their equipment is no longer conforming GAP/DECT specs, even iunder warranty, and the best solution they have now is to buy more C45 handsets.
Any way, at least, Siemens should provide us a way to downgrade the firmware to level 1030.
I really dont care of gigaset.net because I told all my friends not to upgrade to 1057 to avoid problems with third party handsets.
So, all the people I know are still running the 1030 firmware level in which the gigaset.net feature is not implemented.

I was using C450IP wiithin a small telephone network at home... one C450IP+1C45 Handset+3 third party... everithing was fine until v59 upgrade...
Now i am only using the C45 and an old siemens dect phone than managed no register.....
I also tried another siemens and it worked....
I hope siemens release a new firmware or at least a way to downgrade....
For now is not a good idea to buy this phone...

Port used by gigaset.net STUN is 3478 .
All pports are open, 5060, 5004 and 3478 (TCP/UDP). When I dail the test 1234#9 I still get "beeps". I have no clue what can be wrong. Connection to create a nickname through gigaset.net went fine.
I have the same problem as the others with the latest firmware update and Philips Zenia 300 and Alcatel V950 DECT phones.
While waiting for the fix, I'm trying to downgrade to chagall030_01.bin, is there a way to force it?
Any simple tool available that will patch the version either on the device or in the binary or tell the device to force reloading without checking for the version already installed ?

Siemens doesn't say officilly what is going on.
Either they dont care of your (our) problem or may be they are working on a fix.
If they are working on a fix, they work slowly... very slowly since they introduced the bug more than two months ago.
and he latest level of firmware doesn't cure the problem...
Today, I dont recommand to buy C450IP because I imagine they are sold with the firmware at the latest level.

Since 01:30 AM, March 11, 2007 no news about the third party handset problem with the c450ip firmware.
I cant beleive the dev is working on the trouble since such a long time without finding a fix.. or without providing us a way to downgrade the firmware.
I must now decide if I continue monitoring this blog and trying to upgrade (again) my c450ip or if I have to buy another equipment.
In my opinion, Siemens has decided not to fix the trouble so as I dont want to buy any more Siemens handset before this bug is fixed I have to choose another maker.

I do have the same problem. My thirdparty handsets (Alcatel and Philips) worked fine just until the firmware upgrade (dont know if 57 or 59 caused the problem). Now they can not be registered at the base anymore.
I wrote several mails to the support. First I got some standard advices (reset base, try again, ...) but as assumed it doesn't bring anything.
Now since more than a week no further feedback. Either they are working on it or they have found some better things to do.
I'm still looking ahead as I think there must be a solution. They put the problem in so they for sure can take it out again (if they know what they changed in their source code - look in your CVS guys!).
I recently bought a Gigaset S450.
It is a nice phone but the internal clock loses 3 minutes a week. One of the features is an alarm clock so it is virtually useless because of the time loss.
Online customer support has not been helpful. I have tried calling the 866 number but I was on hold for 31 minutes yesterday and 1 hour and 15 minutes today without hearing a human voice.
If I can't get through by phone and the internet isn't helpful how do I get support? Does Siemens have effective customer support personnel?

sorry but this is the old firmware from 28 March (V01059) which is already running on the base (also on that of other posters - see previous postings).
With this one the bug is definitely NOT fixed.

I've just bought a C450 IP, it works great. Registration with a third-party (Panasonic) GAP handset works, the handset can place outgoing analog and VoIP calls but it *cannot* accept any internal calls from the original Siemens handset and it does not ring when an incoming call comes... If I try to place an internal call to "all handsets" or to "internal 2" specifically, from the Siemens handset, all I get is an "internal 2 unavailable" message... So, the third-party handset is virtually useless, because it cannot accept any calls, even though the registration with the base is successful. Any comments/suggestions would be welcome... :-(
I can not register my Gigaset 3000 at my new Gigaset C450 ip base. This is supposed to work, is it not?
I am not able to hear the dial tone nither i can here the incoming call (though there is the ring when a call comes in)

I am absolutely livid. My home phone, Siemens Gigaset 645 is driving me crazy. When I tried to check my messages this morning, I dialled and could not hear a dialling tone, I then tried dialing a mobile phone and again I could not hear a sound. You can only hear a sound when you put the phone on loudspeaker. I do not want to have to keep putting the phone on loudspeaker when I want to to talk to someone. Please help, the Siemens website is absolutely useless and is giving me no information or help on how to fix this problem. The instruction booklet doesn't include this problem either!

Yet I am getting the following problems:
1) Getting registration failed from time to time but not always
2) When trying tp call another net phone I get timeout errors and in othertimes when the other party answers I don't hear his voice at all times
3) When somone calls me and I try to answer also I don't hear anything at all times
What could be the reasons if you have any idea?

I need your help with S450IP. I bought the device today and everything was ok until I tried to upgrade the FW. Now I cannot register original S450 handset with the base. I tried reset but it does not help. Further, after upgrading I cannot get access to web configurator - apparently the base's software just hungs - it does not receive IP from DHCP server.
How can I bring the base back to life after unsuccesfull FW upgrade?

I have a serious problem with SX303 when using C450 handset (NOT C450IP). The handsets disconnect unexpectedly. The only way to reconnect is to power the C450 off and then power on.
The SX 303 has the latest firmware.
Any recommendations?

I have the same problem with My S675IP: Registration Failed for GIGASET.NET.
Then I solved this issue thanks to a post read on S675IP blog. It seems caused to STUN configuration Enabled on other Service Provider configuration.
Try to set STUN OFF on all providers, then RESTART your ADSL Router.
Now my S675IP display REGISTERED on GIGASET.NET !!!
Well, STUN is important too ... then i think siemens should be take a look to this issue for solve forever.

i m unable to configure this basestation
it gets ip from dhcp server 192.168.1.4 and i logon to this device then i go to telephony to configure the sip setting but i can not type anything there i should be able to type it via web if not via phone.
the phone is also paired with base station coz i can reset the base,change password of base via handset so it is connected to base and i can see the INT on the handset.
all i want i should be able to configured it via web IE since i can logon into device by ie i should be also to whatever i want...

I have c470, the phone has upgraded the firmware and stops to work. Gigaset C470 IP / C475 IP / S675 IP / S685 IP Firmware update 07/2008 this firm stops to work. Can somebody help me to revert the old firm, or how can i reset or reflash them. Thx

if the firmware update has failed, the Gigaset will try to recover itself. In some cases this mechanism is blocked by the Router or some kind of Firewall. If possible try to connect the Gigaset for recovery at a different Internet connection or disable the Firewall and any other disturbing influence.

I am going nuts with my C450 IP phone.
I have tried everything, FW update and static IP address, reset many times but I still have a problem.
Everytime I want to make a call, I have to reset something before I can make a call. Either remove LAN cable from the base or switch off the phone. It seems that my registration is only valid for 1 call and then I have to register again to make another call.
Can anybody help?
