At 114 mm long, 46.5 mm wide and 22.6 mm thick, the Siemens Gigaset SL370 is the smallest cordless phone in the Gigaset portfolio. It is no larger than a modern mobile phone and therefore makes a nice constant companion within the home. The Siemens Gigaset SL370 delivers hands-free, cordless telephony using a Bluetooth headset. New Gigaset QuickSync software is also available for download over the Internet, and automatically synchronizes handset and PC contacts.
The QuickSync software automatically synchronizes handset and PC contacts and is compatible with Microsoft ® Outlook ® 2003, Outlook Express and Windows Vista ™ . It enables users to quickly and easily transfer information and files such as Picture CLIP’s and screensavers, and is straightforward to install and easy to use. Contact data can be transferred as vCards and there is room for 250 addresses, including three telephone numbers, an e-mail address and the contact’s birthday.
Picture CLIP enables pictures to be assigned to contacts so that photos of known callers can be displayed on the handset’s large, high-resolution color display. In terms of functionality, the combined icon/text menu on the Siemens Gigaset SL370/375 is simple to use thanks to the 5-way navigation control. The phone’s extensive features also include hands-free operation, a vibration alarm, SMS functionality, polyphonic ringtones and organizer functions, including a calendar. The Siemens Gigaset SL375 also includes a answering machine that records up to 40 minutes of messages. Furthermore, users that want to have several phones in the home can pair up to six handsets with the base station.
The phone has been awarded the iF Design Prize. As well as the handset's metallic chrome and matt black finish, there is also a separate chrome charger cradle that enables the Siemens Gigaset SL370/375 to be placed anywhere in the home.
The Siemens Gigaset SL370 is on sale now, priced at 119.99 euros and the Siemens Gigaset SL375 will be available from July, priced at 139.99 euros.

What about Mac support?
Apple has built an excellent address book/phone synchronization system into their OS, one that already supports most cell phones. It too supports the industry standard vCards.
Surely creating a Siemens Gigaset SL370 Mac sync plugin couldn’t be that difficult, indeed I’m sure it’d be far easier to make the Mac plugin then the whole new Gigaset QuickSync software for Windows.
I ask because, yes, I have a Mac I use as my central place for coordinating the half dozen address books my home phone, cell phone, email programs (Thunderbird for home use, Outlook for work), etc. all seem to require. And yes, I’m looking for a new phone system to replace my aging Siemens Gigaset one.
Is SL375 will works in USA?
Doesn't work with iSync on a Mac..very disappointing!!
etc.
Co una simple tabla se soluciona esto.
¿Tan difil es esto?
Hi Michael & Chr Erichsen,
yes I know Apple support for Siemens Gigaset products is poor. I am sorry for that, because I myself do work almost all the time with my MAC.
Hi Ata,
pls check this very good comment from Ralph. What is true for the SL560 is also true for the SL370:

Hi Ramon,
you you pls ask in English?...;)
The Bluetooth function apparently works properly only with SIEMENS mobile phones, according to the salesman after we couldn't make it work with our SonyEricsson Bluetooth phone.
How come?
Don
I too have the question about the compatibility and availability of SL375 in US market.
Hi David,
pls check this discussion:

the link to bautiful_on_the... doesn't work (anymore?).
Any alternative for a bluetooth dect that synchronizes with a mac? I intend to buy one, but not when it doesn't synchonize with my mac.
Hi Carl van Denzen,
thx for your remark. Here the correct link:

Hi, I just recieved my SL375 with 3 of the SL37H handsets. I have sucesfuly purchased a DCA 510 data cable and downloaded the XP drivers and quicksync program from this site. Hardware and software install fine but the computer and phone do not want to talk to each other - I keep getting a "connection timed out" message.
Can anyone help me work out how to sync the phone with outlook?
Gigaset Quicksybc "times out" when connecting to SL37H.
I am using a Motorola B\T dongle, Widcomm drivers and Microsoft Office 2007 address book on an XP service pack2 system. Office will send one address at a time to the Siemens Cordless, but Quicksync refuses to connect thro' port 3 or any other port, in order to syncronize. Its a great phone, if only this transfer would work as seemless as my Motorola Mobile.
Can anyone help please.
Moritz, I have the same QuickSync issue, "connecting time out" message, i have tried 2 different pcs, and it doesn't work.
In the Windows world companies blame each other, antivirus, and of course they blame us for being unable to do such a simple thing, but we, consumers, pay for functinalities that does not function at all.
Very dissaponted with SL37
Hi jaja, Ed & Toby,
hmmm seems to be a general problem. I will contact Siemens product management and let you know if one might help you...
I got also the QuickSync Timeout issue and I'm unable to find any support to get this PC-Gigaset working.
I'm also desapointed, I've purchase this device especially for this synchronysation capability
I have an SL375, which is Australian stock. In Australia you cannot buy additional handsets (SL37H), but i could buy an SL370. Could i just use the handset part and register it to my existing base or is the SL37H different in some way. I can get an SL37H from the UK, will it work with the Australian SL375 if i get an RJ11 cable??
Ok, it may be a little annoying... but I'm having lots of trouble trying to connect through bluetooth my SL37H to my pc, too.
I get the timeout error with the latest (italian) version of quicksync (2.5) and a "Portatile non riconosciuto" (should sound somewhat like "unknown handset") with the previous one (2.0)
Since the first post have been made 4 months ago, I think that Siemens hat time enough to give us an answer, don't you agree?
I'm really disappointed. I thought they care about their customers... :(
I just bought an SL370 today and am very disappointed that my Sony Ericsson HBH-970 stereo Bluetooth headset does not work, even though it supports BT 2.0.
The SL370 is able to detect my headset, but it won't transfer calls (both incoming and outgoing) to my BT headset.
I'm still struggling, and very disappointed.
The reason why you "can't" have Mac sync software or why it won't sync to anything other than a Siemens mobile is the way the phone uses proprietary siemens AT commands to invoke the OBEX transfer of the vcards. AT^SQWE=3 is not a standard GSM type command for accepting vcards (though i know its not a GSM phone).
You can over come this with the new isync mac plugin editor, but the phone unfortunately breaks the connection while the Mac probes the phone for resources, so it still wont sync.
shame really as i have 160 phone book entries and i DONT WANT any area codes added to them - so i cant upload them to the phone. - oh and it screws with the contacts lists occasionally so you either have to delete them all or edit all your contacts. (make sure you dont allow the phone to push changes back to the contacts list).
All in all great phone, with sync software that is either non-standard and feature-fixed. hardware 10/10 software 1/10
This is my second sl37h and I still have the same address book sync problem. Widcomm bluetooth drivers and dongle all work fine, Windows b/t stack removed, pairing is a go, but QuickSync will not connect. (My Motorola Cell syncs fine ising its software) Solution to transferring address book, (which I incidently manage in Office Outlook 2007), is to temporarily change my default Email client to "Outlook Express", select all the contacts in this and "send to bluetooth". Presto! I cannot get the "send to bluetooth" to work in Office Outlook, even though I have downloaded the latest addins and enabled them. I would love to hear of a more elegant solution for both Gigasync and Outlook.
Regards
Ed
