The features of a telephone are central for the use of this device. I myself could not imagine to work without a handsfree speaking because I want to use my hands to work at my computer while my girlfriend tells me every detail of her day...;)...others might buy a phone only if the device has a mute bottom, because it is used in telephone conferences where you might need to talk in confidence for a couple of minutes (look e.g. here: "Audience Special ").
Our last voting asked if you do use any VoIP products. One-fifth admitted to never use any VoIP device, 45% phone over the net from time to time and 35% said that they do it often.

I've a Siemens SX 763 router connected to a broadband WIFI provider (no ADSL) by WAN port (LAN4).
When in the router configuration, the internet connection is disabled, I can login the SX 763 and I can go in internet.
If I active the Internet connection by Ethernet in the router configuration, the login is impossible and internet doesn't work.
To login again, I've to reboot the router with factory configuration.
In addition I'm not able to use VOIP and I think It's due to absence of internet configuration in the router.
At the end, I' not able to contact my router from an external internet connection (from the office for example).
I wrote to Siemens customer care and they told me that I need a DSL connection. I think that this is not an aceptable answer, because the router have a WAN port and it has to work.
Anyone have the same problem?
Tank you.
Manuel

Please add syncronisation with PC and Mac. Mac OS X comes with build in iSync - I would appreceate syncing my Gigaset via Bluetooth with my Mac very much.

Hello I just bought an s450ip phone and have configured it with poivy and sipdiscount. Am able to make calls and receive calls ok.. but when i try to make calls via the gigaset.net network it doesnt work and also when my friend calls me on gigaset.net..my phone rings but I cant hear him and he also cant hear me. what can the problem be?????
marc, opening the ports (5600 + 5004 are standard) on your router or forwarding then to the address of the phone will solve this
Hi Manuel,
I would like to strongly recommend to replace your device, because it seems that your hardware is broken.
Better PC software that uses the advanced contact entries on the SL565 rather than mapping each telephone to an indexed display name.
Ability to change the display name of the Contact from "Surname, Firstname"
Ability to have greater control over the answer phone cut-in; 20 seconds is too long, 10 seconds is too short
M34 USB software needs to be updated and expanded, it has such great potential but is woeful as it stands (no modem, no caller-id, no line status, no call staus, etc, etc)
iSync plugin for gigaset 560 would be appreciated.
iSync for S68H- please !
