Second round of our audience special. You have the possibility to publish your individual articles on this weblog. Pls send me your proposals to this email: info@gigaset-blog.com
The honour of the second reader to publish an article is Julie. Enjoy...;)

After hours of research and phone calls to Siemens tech support, I have found the solution to my problem. I wanted to share it for anyone else who may be experiencing the same issue. I have Vonage and the Siemens Gigaset S450. I could receive incoming calls, but could not make an outgoing call. Here is the problem and the solution:

Problem: When you press TALK you hear dial tone but when you press the keys to dial the number, you do not hear the key pressed tone, and no call is placed, or if you dial the number and then press TALK, you hear a tone but no call is placed.

In some cases, when a Siemens Gigaset S450 is connected to a VoIP ATA, you may be able to receive calls but not make calls. This may be caused by the differences in the amount of line current requeired to initiate proper dialing that exist between VoIP ATAs. The Siemens Gigaset S450 can be adjusted to account for these differences if they vary to much and dialing out cannot be achieved. The simple adjustment below should remedy this condition.

Solution (It worked for me):

* Press the Menu softkey
* Select Settings
* Select Base
* Dial (key in) 9 4 7 6 2 0 0 1
Note: The Display will show Eeprom
* Dial (key in) 2 1 0 5 6 2 1 0 1 1 2 1 9 9 6
* Press the OK softkey
Note: The Display will show Saved and you will hear a short beep.

I am looking for a system with one base stations and up to 4 or 5 DECT phones giving access to one land line (POT) and two or more skype VOIP accounts as I do want to assign different skype accounts to different phones. Do you know any device who can do that ? could I use a Siemens Gigaset S450 IP for example with its multi SIP accounts to connect to multiple skype accounts ? Will Siemens support skype in this product line ? (for reference see Philips VOIP841) thank you

We just got the E450 and it has the same problem as the S450, but the instructions above don't work for the E450. How can I find out what the codes are for the E450?

I just bought the E450 and an E45 and thanks to your steps my phones work great now! That code works for both the S and E series systems. I looked all over trying to find this info how did you find the codes? Thanks for posting this information!
