Today Microsoft and Siemens VDO announced a deal to co-develop in-car entertainment systems and navigation products. Both companies will develop a multi-media platform to easily embed mobile phones and music players into automotive systems.

"In addition, Siemens VDO will also be able to actively help shape Microsoft Auto and license platform-compliant applications, such as navigation functions, for third-party suppliers," two companies said a joint statement.

The market for automotive infotainment products is set to grow to about $54 billion by 2012 from $38 billion currently, according to research group iSuppli. The first products based on the Microsoft Auto Platform are expected in 2009.

And I'd never hire someone with such awful English skills as you have, M. Schäufele.

But you are right: Everybody just google für a debate between GM and Microsoft, where Microsoft accused the car industriy to have a stagnation/slow process in comparision to Microsoft and the pc industry... GM strikes back, very nice... google!
