ECO DECT & more: Health effects of WiFi

20071012_ECODECTLogo.jpg

While Siemens Gigaset is talking about ECO DECT (check this German ECO DECT Special
& the German ECO DECT Blog) the British Government intends to study health effects of WiFi radiation. Generally, the news that a study about dangers caused by WiFi signals would provoke groans of disappointment from all techo-geeks: nevertheless, the statement that such a study will take place is in a way a calming development. The study is called to be "systematic", according to the Health Protection Agency which will execute the study. It will definitely not be "final," "definitive," and "complete", but all areas of potential dangerousness will be investigated. Once again a new study...one might doubt the surplus...

I find this amusing considering the EMF output of WiFi or DECT devices is microscopic compared to many common house hold electrical devices. There have been lots of studies into the health effects of RFI and they have all shown zero, zip, nada effects. I just think this is another anal retentive German make work for no logical reason project put out to make a few low IQ serfs feel happy that their officials are wasting money on rubbish research.
