Gigaset-blog Helmet week

20071119_militaryhelmet.jpg

On Monday I presented a solar driven bike helmet, today I'd like to show you this "military-gadget" helmet: Pilots of the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter wear this new combat helmet. It replaces the conventional jet fighter head-up display. Instead a more computerized one will be displayed directly onto the pilot's sight. So far the pilot could only look out of the front of his cockpit. The new helmet allows him to look through the floor of his cockpit, even at night.

@Andrew How about an iPod for this cute Alien-style helmet...;)

The new combat helmet now being tested may become an integral part of the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, replacing the traditional jet fighter head-up display with computerized "symbology" projected directly onto the pilot's visor.
