Hi, I have a S450IP, is there any features that would be lost if I only buy the handset S675 ?

The station seems to be the same or is it a different firmware?

best regards, Håkan

Hi Hakan,
no features will be lost if you buy the handset.
I am not 100% sure if the FW is different. Why do you want to know?

Moritz 2:41 PM, February 14, 2008

Beaacuse the handset of the 675 has more features than the 450 (rss feed for one thing)

So instead of buying everything new I just thought I'd buy the handset, if that works.

Best regards, Håkan

Currently there is great ignorance in the Australian market about the Siemens Gigagset. Retailers are withdrawing from stocking these products, and internet traders are claiming they are not for domestic use--only in corporate PABX installations. The C475IP cannot be purchased with additional handsets, and no-one (not even Siemens' product managers) can advise if overseas sourced models can be legally used on the Australian PSTN.

The few models of Siemens Gigasets in the very few Australian stores that stock them are sold at a mark-up of at least 50% of their competitors--and with fewer features ("We don't sell many of these and don't recommend them), and at a mark-up of 100% over their prices internationally.

It will be sad if Siemens focusses its attentions entirely on the corporate market when they are capable of making very good consumer products. They have al but disappeared from the local mobile phone market.

Does Siemens have a timetable for releasing the 675IP in Australia--or any commitment to this market?

Hey Ed. It's a shame you didn't get a reply to your question as I too live in Australia and would be very interested to hear the answer.

Hi Ed/Lee - like you, I am eagerly awaiting the release of the 675 IP in Australia......can someone from Seimens provide a response perhaps??
