While Nokia gained a huge profit in Q4 of 2008 it is still planning to cut 2.300 jobs in Bochum, Germany. The company might use a little bit of this surplus to ally the NRW-Bank.

So far Germany has called uppon Nokia to pay back subsidies provided to build up the cellphone factory in Bochum which the cellphone maker plans to shut down now.

The German bank claims $92 million, which is due by March 31st. The bank stated that it will take legal action to secure payment, if Nokia refuses to co-operate.

The loss of 2.300 jobs in the region is of high interest for Siemens Gigaset employees as well, because a factory is located nearby in Bocholt.
