The Siemens Gigaset S685 IP offers fixed-line as well as VoIP telephony. It draws a crucial distinction to its precursor the Siemens Gigaset S675 IP: Bluetooth. This allows you to:
* connect a Bluetooth headset with your Gigaset phone
* sync your contacts from your mobile phone as well as your PC with your Gigaset phone
Moreover you can save up to 60% energy because of ECO DECT technology and get your daily horoscope, daily biorhythm or the weather forecast via gigaset.net. Find all facts here:

Will the S685 also support contact synchronization with a Mac?
no sry :-(
well, it should. Why are mac users so neglected?
If you really are not willing to develop Mac support yourself, you could at least partner up with a company like nova media ( http://www.novamedia.de/e_pages/e_produkte_mac_isync_plugins.html ). I am pretty sure, that they would develop Gigaset support, if Siemens provides the necessary technical documentation.
Hi Michael & J LECAT
first of all: the issue that Siemens Gigaset does not have any Mac support at all is annoying me myself...believe me...
Thx Michael 4 your proposal to contact nova media. I will try and keep u up-to-date!
Btw: Check my "message" of this article in regard to this topic. Focus on the last sentence ...;)

It would be good if Siemens can made the promised Windows Sync to work. I bought 685IP a week ago and one of the key feature I wanted was the sync with outlook. Package does not include the sync software so you have to download it. Site talks about a version 2.5, download and install it and it shows Version 1.2.xxx.xxxx. Looks to me that the site link is broken and pointing to an old software.
Web interface only allows upload of .vcf file. There is mention in the manual that a tab separated version is accepted via the web interface but no further details on how the format should look like. Also MS Outlook does not export the address book in .vcf except for single entries unless you buy some third party product. And Siemens is not compatible with say Yahoo .vcf file with all entries. Yes, individual entries upload work but if you have an address book with 100 entries, that is 100 times upload on one of the slow web interface.
Web interface should work with Mac but this is not a sync feature but you can load your current address book to the phone. And Mac is capable to create a single .vcf file of all address book entry so this issue should be also solved. So Mac users are probably better of with this phone.
The product seems to have a perfect opportunity to do sync via the web but unfortunately the client software does not do that. Hope Siemens will create a sync software to sync Outlook with the handset using the function they use on the base station for uploading .vcf file.
In summary, if anyone is looking for the Sync function on this phone. IT DOES NOT WORK. And there is no way to contact support other than by phone.
