At regular intervals one heard it on the grapevine that some guys will revolutionize the internet. This time a team from the University of Sydney claims to do so with a piece of scratched glass (or a Photonic Integrated Circuit, if one is proper).
This promises to enable web speeds sixty times faster than "current Australian networks." Basically, the "circuit uses the scratch as a guide or a switching path for information," and the result is "photonic technology that has terabit per second capacity."
We will see... until then check those broadband devices for "normal" internet speed:
