20080616_hd1.jpg
Hey guys,

this is a special post for all of you living in Austria & interested in HD receiver. So go on reading if you can ;)

Hier gehts weiter:

Networked world: results of an online market study

There is a clear trend in Europe toward linking communications and consumer electronics to create the connected home, as evidenced by the growing demand reported by most private households. That is the result of an online survey conducted by the German market research and consulting agency PbS* on behalf of Siemens Gigaset (SHC). In January 2008, PbS asked a total of 1,400 participants aged 18 to 55 in seven countries (Germany, Italy, the UK, France, Sweden, the Netherlands and Dubai) about their attitudes toward and use of technical multi-media equipment in the home, and in particular about online services and VoIP telephony.

The return of Grundig's Audiorama Speakers

20070813_grundig.jpg

To mark the jubilee of its 100th birthday Grundig re-introduces the Audiorama speakers. These globular gemstones can be placed almost everywhere, as the 360-degree sound emissions should cover the space adequately. Unfortunately, details concerning the power handling, frequency range, etc. are still not available, but those retro freaks can check out a four pack out next February for around €600 ($826).
(Via I4U News)

A nice companion to those beautiful speakers is the Siemens Gigaset SL370.

HD DVD versus Blue Ray - Part 1/2

20070404_HD.jpeg

Whereas the CD, as data storage and delivery media, lasted successfully for decades and seems to be alive and kicking as we speak, we can't say the same about the DVD. On the market for a mere few years, the format is not very much taken into account when it comes to store and deliver video and audio content.

While at the beginning of the decade, the DVD seemed like a major discovery, it shortly proved itself unable to solve some of the most important problems that lead to its very creation.
